Soils

A soil profile is the four different layers of the soils. The first is the top soil and the plants. The second is just soil. The third is organic matter and roots. The fourth is solid organic matter and rock.

The soil texture classes are sand, loamy sands, sandy loams, loam, silt loam, silt, sandy clay loam, clay loam, silty clay loam, sandy clay, silty clay, and clay.

This involves putting soil with different textures and classifications into groups.

All the organic matter and sand and soil combining together.

The Earth is Crying Out For Help

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/09/opinion/09iht-edlovejoy.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=temperature%20and%20sustainability&st=cse

I think this article is about the earth suffering in some way due to human causes
The author's approach/perspective is that he is worried about the earth and the things that have to be done in order to live in the world today. I think that the author could have possible used a stronger logical and emotional appeal in order to win the reader over. I think that the author should have mentioned more animals and people that are suffering because of the drastic changes that are happening in the world. The author talks about some of the animals such as a snowshoe hare that is suffering because there is no plains with a snowy landscape for then to escape predators. I do agree with the points that the author is trying to make. I feel strongly about the way the earth is today and how humanity as we know it is dying off slowly. The thought of small animals dying just to feed the larger animals who are also dying off really hits home. The points that the author is making does have evidence that supports it. The result of the article is study and research based. The research is from December 8, 2009. The writer does not present opinion as fact, it is presented separately than fact. The writer in my opinion does use valid reasoning. I think that the author presenting the fact that people and animals are suffering is valid reason enough. The assumption that the world is going to be gone if we don't try to fix the way we live was very clear to me. The author does not over simplify complex ideas. All of the complex ideas are explained very well. I don't think that the writer makes unsupported generalizations. The writer does make reasonable inferences about the world as it is becoming. The author talks about the people of the world as people that are destroying the planet, the rock in which we live on. I think that the way the author speaks about us, the people that are destroying the planet as the monsters that they are. How Australia has to abandon rice which is one of their major crops just because the world is so bad. I don not think that the author uses unfair judgment towards the people in the text. The writer does present a balanced picture of the issue. the writer uses vivid detail to describe what the world has come to. The writer's tone is sad. The writer talks about the animals that are dying and the countries that are going under because of the way the world is. i feel the author's sadness. The writer's tone and choice of words does show some resemblance to bias. I think that the author feels strongly about the earth and about the organisms that inhabit it. As do I. I am too, biased about they way the earth is becoming.
